Welcome to True North

A simple console for seeing your whole financial picture in one place — what you own, what you owe, and how it's allocated. Here's the lay of the land.

1

Name your ledger & set your currencies

Type your name at the top so it's yours. Then set your base currency (the one everything converts into) and add up to three more if you hold assets abroad — you set and update the exchange rates yourself, so the maths is always on your terms.

2

Add your holdings

For each thing you own — savings, investments, property, retirement fund, crypto — add a row with its name, type, amount and currency. The type decides which class it belongs to. Mark anything you can't easily access (locked funds, retirement accounts) as locked.

3

Split funds handle themselves

Got a balanced fund that's part shares, part bonds? Pick a ratio type like 60:40, enter the total value, and it auto-splits into two linked rows — 60% to Equity, 40% to Fixed Income. Update the total any time and both sides re-split automatically.

4

Read your two pies

Full Net Worth shows everything including your home and car. Liquid Assets strips those out to show what's actually investable. Below them, a strategic allocation strip groups everything into six simple buckets so you can see your overall balance at a glance.

5

Log snapshots over time

Hit Update whenever you want to record where you stand. Each snapshot saves your net worth, the exchange rates, and your allocation mix — so you build a running history and can watch how things drift across months.

⚑ One golden rule: your data lives only in this file on your own device — there's no cloud, nothing is sent anywhere. Click Export JSON now and then to keep a backup. Your snapshot history is the one thing you can't rebuild, so protect it.
